Nick Economos
Nick Economos completed his Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy in 1992 at Sydney University. He has worked extensively as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist in private practice and in public hospitals both interstate and overseas.
He has worked within the injury management arena with an occupational rehabilitation provider as well as a self insured employer. Nick co-ordinated the pain management and functional restoration programs at Cedar Court Rehabilitation hospital for 5 years.
Nick currently works in private practice and as a consultant physiotherapy advisor to WorkSafe and had papers accepted for presentation at the AFRM and APA conferences in 2007 on the management of persistent pain conditions.
Dr Jacqui Stanford
Dr Jacqui Stanford completed her Doctor of Health Psychology in 2003. She has been a registered psychologist since 2004 and is a member of the College of Health Psychologists.
Jacqui has specialised in working with clients with persistent pain over the past five years. She has worked with a multidisciplinary team that uses the central sensitisation framework as the foundation for intervention. Jacqui has been involved in the supervision of post graduate psychology students in this area.
She was also involved with the research and education committee in her previous workplace, with a particular interest in factors associated with persistent pain and outcomes from multidisciplinary interventions.
Currently Jacqui is working in private practice and continues to work with clients with persistent pain issues, as well as other psychological issues.
Fiona Thomas
Fiona Thomas graduated as an occupational therapist in 1986 and has worked in a variety of clinical areas including hand therapy, industrial musculoskeletal rehabilitation and chronic pain management. Fiona was involved with the development of the pain management programs at Cedar Court, in particular the Fibromyalgia program.
Fiona has a clinical interest in goals setting, pacing, functional capacity assessments and how they relate to occupational therapy practice.
Currently Fiona is working at Caulfield General Medical Centre in the Caulfield Pain Management Team.
In conjunction with Jacqui and Nick, Fiona has been involved with process of data collection, analysis and quality improvement within a rehabilitation setting and based on this data she has presented on the Fibromyalgia programme at the AFRM conference in Hobart 2003, the ARA conference Melbourne 2005 and at the occupational therapy pain management special interest group 2006.
